Viña Costeira is a balanced blend of the varieties Godello, Treixadura, Torrontés, Loureira—indigenous grapes of Ribeiro. The grapes come from the best slopes (costeiras) that the rivers Miño and Avia form surrounding the medieval village of Ribadavia. After a gentle pressing, the grape juice undergoes a traditional fermentation, with each variety fermented separately in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures under 18ºC to preserve the delicate primary aromas of each varietal. Once fermentation finishes, the wine undergoes aging on the lees. Finally the wines are blended to achieve the perfect balance of the different varieties before they are cold-stabilized and bottled.
This wine is brilliant straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The nose is dominated by citrus notes and delicate fruit aromas of melon, lemon and red apple. It is a well balanced and pleasant white wine with a tasty and refreshing feel in the mouth. It is best paired with sea food, shellfish and Galician cheese.
