The Albillo Mayor is a native grape to the Ribera del Duero region, but had mostly been discarded due to the variety not being included in the original D.O. regulations. Bodegas Valduero began making white wines with this local grape in 1990 and since then has gone on to become the most highly awarded white wine producer in the region.
The Valduero Blanco retains great acidity but has a body and depth from the lees ageing and its complexity is enhanced by the use of native yeasts. A fruit driven white with notes of tropical fruit and touches of grapefruit zest.
