Navarra is one of those overlooked regions of Spain, tucked away above La Rioja and sometimes overshadowed by its Celtic neighbours in the Basque country. Wines from this region offer exceptional quality and value for money and deserve to gain wider recognition. Bodega Inurrieta was only established in 2002 but the family have generations of winemaking history behind them, and have slowly built up a wonderful range of red and white wines that are great crowd-pleasers with elegance.
The Mimao spends 4 months barrel-ageing with some occasional batonnage so the final wine has a silkiness to the texture. Light, fresh, well balanced acidity and a hint of fresh tropical fruit and white flowers. A really delicious wine to enjoy by itself or with light fish dishes, young cheeses or summer vegetables.
