A big, bold red with plenty of body and punch. This weighty wine carries its alcohol splendidly, with beautiful spicy notes integrating with the freshness of blackcurrants. The vines are low-yielding, 100 yr old vines and the juice is intense and deep and only 2,021 bottles were made of the current vintage. Using only natural yeasts, ageing of 22 months in new French oak with a further ageing period of 9 months in bottle gives this extra layers of complexity and is a wine to savour.
Maria and Luis set up this winery in recent years with a view to producing wines that reflect the region of Toro. They practice low intervention wine making methods and follow organic farming principles.
