Starting out at the birth of Rioja in 1895, Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta are steeped in tradition and history.
Tempranillo grapes from 30+yr old vines are blended with Garnacha from 35+yr old vines. The grapes undergo fermentation and initial barrel ageing individually before the coupage is made. This is an expressive wine with potential for further ageing. Notes of licorice, coffee, vanilla and cinnamon blend beautifully with soft, ripe red fruit notes.
