The Melendez-Molleda family began this winery in 2000. The winery is situated at one of the highest points in the region, sitting at 750m with vineyards stretching out in all directions. Relying only on rainfall for irrigation and using a gravity fed system to obtain the juice, the family are very focused on maintaining high wine-making standards and also in sustainable practices.
This 100% Garnacha single-varietal wine comes from the plot that bears its name, 'La Matea', which is a hillside of gravel soil with lvery low productiion. Aged in French and American oak barrels, it is elegant on the palate. Pairs well with red and game meats.
